I’ve been struggling to make clean selections around hair, especially when the strands are fine and wispy. Using the Quick Selection tool often grabs too much background, and the edges look jagged or unnatural. I know Photoshop has some advanced masking options, but I haven’t quite figured out the best approach to get smooth and precise results.

I’ve heard that the Select and Mask workspace can help refine details like hair, but sometimes it still feels like a guessing game. Are there any tips or techniques to isolate hair without losing texture or ending up with a weird halo effect? Also, any advice on working with different backgrounds would be appreciated since I sometimes need to change them after making a selection.

Thanks in advance! I’m hoping to get cleaner cutouts to improve my composites and photo edits.
