How to install Google Input Tools For Tamil Language – Phonetic Typing

Tamil is a Dravidian language. It is spoken in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry states of India and parts of Sri Lanka. Many people in Singapore and Malaysia also speak it. Many people speaking Tamil live in various places around the world.

The Tamil language is part of the Dravidian language family, which includes Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. According to a survey, 1863 newspapers are published in the Tamil language only every day.. The oldest text found in Tamil is Tolkāppiyam. Tamil has a long literary history, and is spoken by almost 90 million people.

How to Install Google Input Tools for Tamil Language?

Download the main setup program from the given below:

Extract the file to get GoogleInputTools.exe and run it. This will install the Google Input Tools Main Program Files… as shown in the image below:

Next you need to download the language files for the Tamil Language setup program from the link given below:

Extract the zip file to get GoogleInputTamil.exe. Run this executable program…

This will ask for permission allow it on clicking run… (Note: This warning may not be shown for some system. So don’t worry…)

With in seconds the language files will also be installed… as shown below…

Though the both screens looks same but these are from two different programs of Google Input Tools.

Now as you have finished the setup. There should be a language link option in your taskbar area with words EN or may be TA written as shown in the below screen.

Click on this icon, and you will get the language options as shown below…

Just select TA and start typing in English Character and to get the final text in Tamil… you will also get suggestion as you type as shown below…

So Enjoy typing in Tamil as you do in English…
