    Just to add a bit of clarity regarding CorelDRAW versions: installing X6, X7, or X8 alongside X5 or earlier often causes thumbnail preview issues because newer versions update the file associations and preview handlers that older versions rely on. Sometimes, repairing the installation of the earliest version after installing the newer ones can help restore previews for all versions. Also, make sure your system has the latest Windows updates, as missing OS components can affect thumbnail generation.

    Maybe the crash is because your graphics driver isn’t updated for Photoshop 2024? I had similar issues with some filters before and updating my GPU drivers helped. Also, check if your Windows 10 has all the latest updates installed, sometimes missing system updates cause stuff like this.

    Tried adding the crop marks exactly as described in that article while exporting my design from Illustrator, and it really helped with alignment during printing. Just a heads-up: make sure you check your bleed settings too, otherwise the crop marks might look off or cut into your design. Worked well for me on version 2023.

    Minimalism in web design is definitely about reducing clutter, but it’s also important not to remove so many elements that usability suffers. The key is to keep only what supports the user’s goals and enhance functionality, not just aesthetics. Sometimes a simple but well-placed call-to-action or subtle navigation cues make all the difference in keeping a minimalist site effective.

    Are you talking about using GREP styles in InDesign to catch widows and orphans? I’m not sure if GREP alone can fully fix those since it mostly matches patterns of text, but maybe you can set a GREP style to add non-breaking spaces or something to keep lines together? Or perhaps use GREP to find short last lines and then manually fix them after?

    Tried using GREP for fixing widows and orphans like you suggested, but it really didn’t work for me. I followed the typical patterns for matching those last words or short lines, but it either missed most cases or ended up messing with the entire paragraph flow. Maybe it depends on the InDesign version or specific layout settings? Anyone else faced this?

    Just a quick note on that article: some of those “cleaning” tools can be a bit aggressive with Windows 11 system files or disk cleanup settings. Make sure you create a restore point before running any deep optimization utilities, especially if they recommend deleting caches or system logs. Not every “supercharge” tool plays nicely with Windows updates or the new security features.

    @Rakesh Bhardwaj You can use GREP styles to help with widows and orphans, but it’s important to note that GREP alone can’t fully prevent them since it’s mostly about pattern matching text, not controlling line breaks. For better control, combining GREP with paragraph composer settings or adjusting tracking and kerning may be necessary. Also, keep in mind that InDesign has specific Widow and Orphan controls under Paragraph settings, which often provide a simpler and more reliable fix without needing complex GREP.

    Siddhartha Shakya, I tried filling a rectangle with Pantone colors in CorelDRAW multiple times, but the colors look completely different when I export the file to PDF or print it out. It seems like CorelDRAW’s color management for Pantone isn’t reliable or I’m missing some ICC profile settings. If you want the Pantone color to stay accurate, be prepared for a lot of trial and error.

    I had the same issue with my PC running hot and slow even when idle. What helped me was disabling some background apps and checking Task Manager for any processes eating CPU. Also, I adjusted my power settings to a balanced plan instead of high performance, and since then, it’s been much more stable and cool. Worth a try if you haven’t already!

    Could you be using Find and Replace to insert tabs or spaces for layout? I always thought it was just for swapping text, not formatting. Maybe setting up special characters like paragraph marks in Find might help layout the document? Not totally sure though.

    Maybe the Artistic Text is like just typing normally, and Paragraph Text is when you have to draw a box first? I think for Text along a path, you have to create a shape like a curve or circle, then click on the text tool and it should attach to the path automatically? Not sure if you need a specific version of CorelDraw for this though.

    Tried creating a paragraph style from a text selection in InDesign CC 2019 like the video showed, and it worked smoothly for me. Just make sure you highlight the entire paragraph before creating the style, otherwise it won’t capture all the formatting. Also, saving your styles in the right document library helps reuse them easily across projects.

    I tried adding inset spacing in my table using Indesign CC 2019 as shown in the video, and it worked well once I realized the inset spacing settings are under Table Options > Cell Options. Just make sure to select the cells first; otherwise, the option stays greyed out. It definitely makes the table look cleaner without manually adjusting every cell.

    Maybe you could try adjusting the tab stops in the ruler at the top of the text frame? I think if you set custom tab stops, it might help create those neat separations without messing up the indents. Also, I heard that using paragraph styles can make this kind of formatting easier to manage consistently, but I’m not completely sure how to set those up yet.

    Tried following the steps for creating bullet and numbered lists in InDesign CC 2019 exactly as shown, but nothing worked. The bullets just wouldn’t show up correctly, and the numbering skipped numbers randomly. Not sure if this is a problem with the Hindi tutorial or a bug in this older version of InDesign, but it’s super frustrating. Anyone else faced this?

    in reply to: Why minimalism is important for this year’s upcoming websites? #26939

    I gave minimalism a try in my last project by drastically reducing the number of visual elements, focusing mainly on whitespace and typography. It definitely improved load times and made the content stand out more, but I noticed it was harder to convey complex ideas without additional graphics. Still, the user feedback was mostly positive, so I’d say it’s worth applying, but maybe not for every type of site.

    in reply to: Adding Automatic Crop Marks using Macro #26937

    I think the bleed setting is like the extra margin you add around your design so nothing important gets cut off when trimming, right? Maybe in CorelDraw you set the bleed size before adding crop marks, so the marks align correctly. Not sure if the macro automatically adjusts for that though.

    When I got my PAN card, I started by linking it to my Aadhaar and bank accounts since that’s pretty essential for tax filing and financial transactions. Using your PAN card while filing income tax returns is the main use, but it also works as a valid ID proof for many official procedures. Just make sure all your details are consistent across documents to avoid any issues.

    @Rakesh Bhardwaj For creating bullet or numbered lists in Adobe InDesign CC 2019, you can use the Paragraph panel. First, select the text you want to format, then click the Bulleted List or Numbered List button in the Paragraph panel or Control bar. If these options don’t appear, make sure your Paragraph panel is visible by going to Window > Type & Tables > Paragraph. Adjust the list style and formatting by clicking the panel menu and choosing Bullets and Numbering. This approach works the same regardless of language, so following it with Hindi text should be straightforward.

    Maybe the macro is only set to work on the first page with the photo, so it might not recognize or apply correctly to the second page with instructions. You might try combining everything on one page or checking if the macro has any page-specific settings you need to adjust. Sometimes macros are designed to work on a single layout, so separating content across pages could confuse it.

    in reply to: How to use crop marks macro #26848

    @Rakesh Bhardwaj To load and use the auto crop marks from the link, first download the file provided in the video description or linked page. Then, open your design software (like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop), go to the “File” menu, and use “Place” or “Import” to bring the crop marks into your document. Position them accordingly around your artwork before exporting or printing. Unfortunately, I don’t have a video link to share, but following these steps usually works well.

    This macro approach for CorelDRAW sounds convenient for bulk ID card creation, but keep in mind that CorelDRAW’s macro support varies by version. Make sure your CorelDRAW version supports VBA macros, as newer versions might require enabling the VBA feature separately. Also, double-check the macro’s picture import path and data source formatting to avoid errors during the batch process.
