@Rakesh Bhardwaj In CorelDraw, the Duplicate command is a quick way to copy and paste an object exactly on top of the original, which differs from the standard copy-paste where you can place it anywhere manually. You can use Ctrl+D to duplicate the selected object, and if you move the duplicated object with the mouse or arrow keys, you can create evenly spaced copies by pressing Ctrl+D repeatedly. This is especially useful for creating patterns or multiple copies with consistent spacing without manually copying and pasting each time.

@Rohan Patel I had the same issue and found that even after disabling startup programs, Windows Update was hanging during boot and causing delays. I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter and manually reset the update components via command prompt. After that, my boot times improved noticeably. It’s worth checking if any updates are stuck or if your system is trying to install updates repeatedly during startup.

@Rakesh Bhardwaj Tried the GREP method you showed for Title Case in my InDesign CC 2022, but I noticed it doesn’t capitalize small words like “of” or “and” correctly if they’re at the start of a line. It works well for most heading text, though. Wondering if there’s a tweak to fix that without manually adjusting each occurrence?

Crashing during PDF export in CorelDraw 2021 on complex vectors is often related to memory usage or certain effects that don’t export well. Try simplifying your artwork by breaking it into smaller parts and export them individually, then merge the PDFs later. Also, make sure your software is fully updated, as patches often fix export bugs. If that doesn’t help, try exporting to a different file format first, like EPS or SVG, and then convert to PDF using another tool.

I tried increasing the Pasteboard Area by dragging the edges of the page in the Document Setup, but it didn’t quite work as expected. Instead, I found that zooming out and adjusting the spread view helps simulate a larger working area. Also, moving panels around and saving the workspace layout made my workflow faster, especially when I kept the Layers and Pages panels docked on the left. Not sure if that’s the official way, but it worked well for me.

@Sanjay Sharma When exporting PNGs in Illustrator, the 300 PPI setting usually comes into play when you use the “Export for Screens” option rather than “Export As.” Make sure you check the resolution settings there, as “Export As” might default to 72 PPI regardless of what you input. If you really need 300 PPI, try exporting via “Export for Screens” and set the scale or resolution accordingly.

@Maya Singh The build number you mentioned, 22621.1320, is a cumulative update on Windows 11 22H2. Sometimes these updates can cause Start menu glitches, but before going into complex troubleshooting, try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager, then find and restart the Windows Explorer process. This often resolves the Start menu not opening issue without needing a reboot. If that doesn’t help, running the System File Checker (sfc /scannow) in an elevated Command Prompt might fix corrupted system files related to the Start menu.

@Kiran Singh I had a similar problem with InDesign CC 2023 on macOS Monterey. For me, the red plus sign didn’t show up until I toggled the “Show Text Threads” option in the View menu. Once that was enabled, overflow indicators appeared again as expected. Worth checking if that visibility setting got accidentally turned off.

I faced the same issue with CorelDraw X7 installed alongside X5. What worked for me was resetting the file associations in Windows to link .CDR files explicitly to the newer version. After that, the preview thumbnails finally showed up correctly in Explorer. Worth trying if thumbnails don’t appear right away.

@Anita Khanna For free streaming apps on Roku without a subscription, you might want to try The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, and Tubi. They offer a wide variety of movies, TV shows, and even live channels for free. Keep in mind the content can vary by region, and there will be occasional ads since they’re free services. Also, check if your Roku is up to date to ensure smooth streaming.

in reply to: Difference between Raster Images and Vector Designs #26798

The main difference between raster and vector files is that raster images are made up of pixels, which means they lose quality when scaled up, whereas vector designs are based on mathematical paths, so they can be resized without any loss in quality. Raster formats include JPEG and PNG, while vector formats include AI and SVG. Sometimes people confuse resolution-dependent raster files with resolution-independent vector ones, so it’s important to choose the format based on how you’ll use the image.

Tried using Snipping Tool exactly as described but it just won’t capture the full desktop screen for me. It always seems to grab only the active window or a part of the screen, not the entire desktop like promised. Anyone else facing this or is there a setting I’m missing?

in reply to: How to Change Default Object and Text Properties in CorelDraw #26677

I think maybe you can change the default text properties by selecting the Text Tool, setting the font and size you want, and then saving that as the default somehow? Like maybe through the Options menu under Workspace or something similar? Not completely sure if this works for objects too, but maybe you do the same for shapes by creating one, setting its properties, and then saving like a template?
