Since installing the latest Windows 11 update (version 22H2), I’ve noticed that I can no longer pin any new apps to the taskbar. When I right-click on an application icon, the “Pin to taskbar” option is either missing or grayed out. I’ve tried restarting Explorer.exe and even rebooting the system multiple times, but the issue persists.

I primarily use a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9, and this problem started right after the update, so I suspect it’s related to that. I haven’t made any changes to group policies or registry settings that could affect taskbar behavior, either. I’ve checked for corrupted system files with sfc /scannow, but it reported no issues.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any known workarounds or settings I should check? It’s frustrating because I rely on pinning apps for quick access during work, and this glitch is really slowing me down.
