Hi everyone, I’m running into an issue while trying to export SVG files from Adobe Illustrator CC 2023 on my Windows 10 machine. I created a graphic with a transparent background, but after exporting and opening the SVG in a browser, the background appears white instead of transparent. I’ve double-checked that the artboard background is set to transparent and not white in Illustrator.

I also tried toggling the “Use Artboards” option during export and experimented with different SVG profiles like SVG 1.1 and SVG Tiny 1.2, but the problem persists. Has anyone else encountered this or found a reliable way to maintain transparency in exported SVGs from Illustrator? It’s important for my workflow because these graphics are going into a web project where the background needs to remain see-through. Thanks in advance!

When exporting from Illustrator, make sure you’re using the “SVG 1.1” profile and have the “Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities” unchecked for better compatibility. Also, double-check that the “Background” is set to transparent in the export options; sometimes the preview might not show transparency correctly depending on the viewer you use. If you open the SVG in a browser and still see a white background, it might be the browser rendering, not the file itself.
