Hi everyone, I’ve been using Windows 10 on my desktop for a couple of years now, and lately, it’s been running slower than usual. Applications take longer to open, and sometimes the system freezes for a few seconds before responding again. I’ve tried basic things like disk cleanup and disabling startup programs, but the improvement was minimal. Also, I keep getting random error messages related to “Windows Explorer has stopped working” and occasional blue screen errors with codes I don’t understand.

I’m not very tech-savvy, so I’m hoping someone can guide me through some troubleshooting steps or recommend tools that could help identify what’s causing these problems. Should I be looking at system file checks, updating drivers, or maybe scanning for malware? Any tips on optimizing Windows settings for better performance would be appreciated too.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

@Rohan Patel Maybe the slowdowns happen because of some background updates or antivirus scans? I think Windows sometimes runs maintenance stuff automatically, which can make things lag for a bit. You might want to check if anything is running in the background that’s using a lot of CPU or RAM.
