I recently came across an article on dtptips.com about YouTube’s biggest update yet, which introduces 30 new features creators need to know about (https://dtptips.com/%f0%9f%9a%a8-youtubes-biggest-update-yet-30-new-features-every-creator-must-know-about/). Some of these features seem quite resource-intensive, and I’m curious if anyone has tips on tweaking Windows settings to avoid performance slowdowns or errors when running these new tools. Has anyone noticed increased CPU or memory usage after the update, and are there specific troubleshooting steps or optimizations that help keep Windows running smoothly alongside these YouTube enhancements?

Participant@Priya Rao Tried using a couple of those new editing features from the update and my system just couldn’t handle it—kept freezing or outright crashing. Even after updating my GPU drivers and closing everything else, it was still a nightmare. Honestly, feels like they released these features without optimizing them properly for mid-range hardware. If you’re not on a beast of a setup, you’ll probably face the same issues.

ParticipantThose resource-intensive features can definitely slow down your workflow if your system isn’t up to date. To optimize performance, make sure you’re using the latest version of your video editing software and have plenty of free RAM available. Also, some new YouTube features like higher-res previews or AI-generated captions might require faster internet speeds, so a wired connection can help reduce lag. If your hardware is older, consider batch processing tasks or using lower-res proxies for editing before final export.
