Hi everyone, I’m working in InDesign CC 2023 on a MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey, and I’ve encountered an issue with text frames. Normally, when text overflows a frame, the small red plus sign appears at the bottom right corner, indicating there’s hidden text. However, in my current project, I don’t see this red plus sign even though I know the text does not fit entirely. I’ve double-checked the story to make sure there isn’t any overset text.

I’ve tried toggling the “Show Text Threads” option and updating preferences, but no luck. Could this be related to any specific text frame setting or a bug in this latest version? It’s making my workflow slower since I can’t visually spot overflow at a glance. Any tips or troubleshooting advice would be appreciated!

@Kiran Singh I had a similar problem with InDesign CC 2023 on macOS Monterey. For me, the red plus sign didn’t show up until I toggled the “Show Text Threads” option in the View menu. Once that was enabled, overflow indicators appeared again as expected. Worth checking if that visibility setting got accidentally turned off.

@Kiran Singh If the red plus sign isn’t showing up when your text overflows, double-check that your text frame isn’t set to ignore overset text in the preferences. Also, sometimes the indicator won’t show if the frame is part of a master page or if the frame is locked or on a locked layer. Make sure none of these conditions apply before digging deeper.
