ParticipantHi everyone, I recently upgraded to Photoshop CC 2023 on Windows 11 and have started experiencing serious brush lag when using my Wacom Intuos Pro tablet. The cursor moves smoothly, but the brush strokes appear delayed or choppy, which makes detailed work nearly impossible. I’ve tried adjusting the Windows pen settings and updating my tablet drivers, but nothing seems to resolve the delay.
I’m running Photoshop on a Ryzen 7 5800X with 32GB RAM and a GTX 1660 GPU, so hardware shouldn’t be the issue. The lag only happens in Photoshop; other drawing apps like Krita and Clip Studio Paint work fine with the tablet. Also, hardware acceleration is enabled under Photoshop’s performance preferences, but I’ve tried disabling it as well with no improvement.
Has anyone else encountered this in the 2023 version? Any ideas on troubleshooting or settings that might fix the brush responsiveness problem would be greatly appreciated!

ParticipantPhotoshop CC 2023 has introduced some new brush engine optimizations, but they can sometimes conflict with Wacom drivers on Windows 11. Try updating your Wacom driver to the latest version first, as older drivers often cause lag issues. If that doesn’t help, go into Photoshop’s Performance settings and disable “Use Graphics Processor” temporarily to see if the lag improves—GPU acceleration can sometimes interfere with tablet input. Also, ensure Windows Ink is enabled in your Wacom tablet settings, as disabling it can cause stroke delays.

Participant@Priya Rao The brush lag you’re describing with Photoshop CC 2023 and Wacom Intuos Pro on Windows 11 might be related to the Windows Ink settings rather than the Photoshop version itself. Try disabling Windows Ink in the Wacom tablet properties and see if that reduces the lag; some users report better performance that way. Also, make sure your tablet drivers are fully updated, as older drivers can cause input lag issues despite having the latest Photoshop.

ParticipantI had the same issue after upgrading to Photoshop CC 2023 on Windows 11 with my Wacom Intuos Pro. What helped for me was disabling Windows Ink in the Wacom Tablet Properties and then enabling Windows Ink support inside Photoshop preferences under the Performance tab. It seemed to reduce the brush lag significantly, though not completely perfect. Worth trying if you haven’t already!
