ParticipantJust to clarify, when using Find/Change to replace paragraph styles in InDesign, you need to make sure that in the “Find Format” section you select the paragraph style you want to find, and in the “Change Format” section, select the new paragraph style you want to apply. The Find/Change dialog won’t let you replace color directly unless you’re searching for text with a specific character style or fill applied. For color replacements, it’s often easier to use the Swatches panel or use the “Find/Change” with character styles that contain the color fill you want to change.

ParticipantTried the method for replacing paragraph styles using Find/Change, and it worked well after I made sure to check the “Find Format” and “Change Format” options specifically for paragraph styles. Just be careful to clear any other format fields or it might not catch all instances. However, I found that changing color via Find/Change is a bit trickier—you need to define the exact swatch in the “Find Format” section, or it won’t find the text with that color correctly.

ParticipantI think to replace paragraph styles using Find and Change in InDesign, you might have to actually select a paragraph style in the Find Format section and then choose a different paragraph style in the Change Format section. But I’m not totally sure if you can do this with just text conditions or if it’s a separate thing. Maybe the color replacement works similarly by picking a fill or stroke color in those format settings?
