ParticipantTo crop images in InDesign, you don’t actually “crop” them like in Photoshop; instead, you use a frame to mask the image. Select the image with the Direct Selection Tool (white arrow), then resize or move the image inside its frame to show the desired area. If you have multiple images combined into one file, it’s best to separate them into individual layers in Photoshop before importing; InDesign doesn’t have built-in tools to split or rip multiple images from a single composite image. Extracting embedded PSD images is easier if you link the file rather than embedding it—then you can open the original PSD in Photoshop to edit or save layers separately.

ParticipantTried cropping images directly in InDesign like the video suggested, but it just crops the frame, not the actual image data. So when I export, the full image is still there, increasing file size. Also, ripping multiple images from a single file didn’t work as expected—selections kept overlapping or I couldn’t snap to individual images properly. Feels like the workflow is missing some crucial steps or maybe it works differently in newer versions?

ParticipantI think to crop images in InDesign, you might need to use the “Direct Selection Tool” and then drag the frame edges instead of the image itself? I’m not sure if that actually changes the image or just the frame though. Also, for extracting images from PSD files, maybe you can just export the PSD layers individually before importing them into InDesign? I’m still kinda new to this stuff!
