I’m working on a multi-column brochure in Adobe InDesign and having trouble getting the text to align neatly across various sections. I want to create clear separations within paragraphs using tabs and adjust indents so that everything looks professional and easy to read. However, when I try to use tabs, the spacing often looks uneven, and the indents don’t seem to apply consistently.

I found an article on this site that seems helpful titled “18. Aligning Text with Tabs and Indents in Adobe InDesign: A Step-by-Step Guide” at https://dtptips.com/18-aligning-text-with-tabs-and-indents-in-adobe-indesign-a-step-by-step-guide/. While the instructions are clear, I’m still confused about how to set custom tab stops that remain consistent throughout a text frame, especially when working with multiple paragraphs or columns. Does anyone have tips or tricks for managing tabs and indents to get clean text alignment in complex layouts?

Maybe you could try adjusting the tab stops in the ruler at the top of the text frame? I think if you set custom tab stops, it might help create those neat separations without messing up the indents. Also, I heard that using paragraph styles can make this kind of formatting easier to manage consistently, but I’m not completely sure how to set those up yet.
