ParticipantLately, I’ve been struggling with my aim in fast-paced shooters like Call of Duty and Apex Legends. I know that consistent aiming is crucial, but no matter how much I practice, I still miss crucial shots in tight situations. I’ve tried adjusting mouse sensitivity and practicing in aim trainers, but it feels like I’m not translating those improvements into actual gameplay.
Does anyone have tips on fine-tuning sensitivity settings or warm-up routines that actually translate to better accuracy during real matches? Also, how important is crosshair placement and reaction time in maintaining accuracy, and are there specific drills to improve those aspects? I’d appreciate any advice from gamers who have successfully boosted their aiming skills in competitive environments.

ParticipantMissing shots in fast-paced shooters often comes down to sensitivity settings rather than just practice. Make sure your mouse or controller sensitivity is low enough to allow precise movements but not so low that you can’t react quickly. Also, don’t overlook the value of training your muscle memory through consistent routines rather than just random aiming—try aim trainers that simulate in-game scenarios specifically.

ParticipantI had the same issue with missing shots even after practicing a ton. What helped me was lowering my mouse sensitivity way more than I thought I needed and focusing on smooth movements instead of flicks. It took a bit to get used to, but my accuracy in close quarters got noticeably better in a week or two. Maybe give that a shot?

ParticipantMissing crucial shots in fast-paced shooters often comes down to a mix of muscle memory and sensitivity settings. If you’ve been practicing a lot but still struggle, it might help to lower your mouse or controller sensitivity slightly so you can make more precise adjustments quickly. Also, try incorporating aim trainers specifically designed for FPS games; those can better simulate the rapid target acquisition you need in games like Call of Duty or Apex. Lastly, make sure your hardware and display settings (like refresh rate and input lag) aren’t holding you back.
