I’m working on a composite image and struggling to get clean edges when masking parts of my layers. I’ve tried using the basic brush tool on masks, but I often end up with rough or jagged edges, especially around hair and detailed objects. I know Photoshop has options like feathering and refining edges, but I’m not sure how to use them effectively.

Does anyone have tips on techniques or settings that can help improve the precision of layer masks? For example, are there specific brush settings or selection tools that work best before converting to a mask? Also, how do you approach the Refine Edge or Select and Mask workspace for complicated selections? Any advice on workflow or shortcuts to speed up the process would be much appreciated.
