I’m working on a lengthy InDesign document with hundreds of linked images, and it’s becoming a challenge to keep track of which files are updated, missing, or modified. I’ve noticed that occasionally, InDesign shows the “missing link” warning, even though the files are in the correct folder. It can be frustrating to manually relink all the images one by one, especially when working under tight deadlines.
Are there any best practices or tips within InDesign to help streamline managing linked images? For example, how can I better organize my Links panel or use features to update multiple links at once? Also, is there a way to automate relinking if the file path changes but the filenames remain the same?
Any advice on avoiding common pitfalls when handling a large number of linked assets would be greatly appreciated!
