I’m working on a portrait editing project, and I keep hitting a wall when it comes to removing backgrounds behind hair. The usual Magic Wand or quick selection tools work okay for simple edges, but hair is so fine and wispy that the results look unnatural or jagged. I’ve tried refining edges with the Select and Mask workspace, but I’m not sure if I’m using its settings optimally.

Is there a recommended workflow or specific brush settings within Select and Mask that help capture those delicate hair strands better? Also, are there any tips for output settings to keep the hair looking natural once you place the subject on a new background? I’m open to any Photoshop techniques that can improve the final look without hours of painstaking manual masking.

Thanks in advance for sharing your tricks!
