Participant@Rakesh Bhardwaj Tried increasing the autobackup interval in CorelDraw 12 like you suggested, but it didn’t seem to help at all with my 600 MB files. The autosave still freezes the program for several seconds every time it triggers, making it almost unusable. Maybe it’s just too old a version to handle large files smoothly.

ParticipantI think in older CorelDraw versions, like before X4, the autobackup interval might be fixed or very limited, so maybe you need to manually change some registry setting or config file to extend the backup time? I couldn’t find any option inside the program itself in those versions. Could it be related to the autosave frequency in the backup preferences? Not sure if that affects files that are really large though.

ParticipantIn CorelDraw versions prior to X4, the autobackup interval isn’t as flexible as in later versions, so you might not be able to increase the backup frequency directly through settings. Instead, a practical workaround is to manually save your work more frequently or use external backup software to monitor changes. Also, keep in mind that very large files (like 500 MB+) can slow down autosave processes regardless of settings, so adjusting your workflow to save incrementally might help more than relying on autobackup alone.

ParticipantTried adjusting the autobackup interval in CorelDraw X3 by editing the registry as suggested, but it didn’t make a noticeable difference for files over 500 MB. It seems the software still slows down significantly during autosave regardless of the timer setting. Maybe the issue is more about how the program handles large files rather than just the backup frequency.

MemberKeep in mind that CorelDraw versions before X4 don’t have a built-in autobackup time adjustment like newer versions do. You might want to set up an external backup script or use Windows’ File History feature to handle autosaving for large files, especially over 500 MB. Relying solely on CorelDraw’s autosave could still risk losing progress with big files.
