Hi everyone, I recently updated my Pixel 4a to Android 11, and since then, I’ve noticed a significant battery drain problem. Before the update, the battery would easily last me a full day with moderate use, but now it barely makes it through the afternoon. I’ve already checked for rogue apps using excessive battery in the settings, but nothing stands out.

My usual workflow includes using social media apps, Gmail, and some occasional YouTube streaming. I also tried toggling adaptive battery and background restrictions, but they don’t seem to make a difference. Has anyone experienced similar issues after updating to Android 11 on the Pixel 4a? Any tips on pinpointing the cause or potential fixes would be appreciated!

Updated my Pixel 4a to Android 11 and had the same battery nightmare. Tried disabling all the “adaptive” battery features and background app optimizations thinking that would help, but it only made things worse. Ended up rolling back to Android 10 because nothing seemed to fix the drain after the update. Feels like Google rushed this release without really optimizing it for the Pixel 4a.

Maybe the new Android 11 update changed some background settings? Like, perhaps some apps are running more in the background and draining the battery faster. It might help to check if any apps have new permissions or are using location a lot now. Not sure though!
