ParticipantI tried increasing the Pasteboard Area by dragging the edges of the page in the Document Setup, but it didn’t quite work as expected. Instead, I found that zooming out and adjusting the spread view helps simulate a larger working area. Also, moving panels around and saving the workspace layout made my workflow faster, especially when I kept the Layers and Pages panels docked on the left. Not sure if that’s the official way, but it worked well for me.

ParticipantInDesign is Adobe’s desktop publishing software used for designing layouts for print and digital media. The workspace refers to the arrangement of panels and tools on your screen, which you can customize by moving panels around. To save your custom workspace, go to Window > Workspace > New Workspace, name it, and save. The design area is your actual page where you place your content, while the pasteboard surrounds the design area and holds items temporarily. You can increase the pasteboard size by going to Preferences > Guides & Pasteboard and adjusting the Pasteboard Dimensions. Rulers can be changed by right-clicking them and selecting your preferred unit of measurement like inches, pixels, or millimeters.

ParticipantI tried increasing the Pasteboard area by dragging the edges, but it didn’t seem to expand beyond a certain limit. Turns out you can’t really “increase” it infinitely; it’s automatically limited by Adobe based on the document size and zoom level. Instead, I found that zooming out more or adjusting the page size is the better workaround to have more workspace. Not exactly what I expected, but it helped me manage elements outside the page area.

Participant@Rakesh Bhardwaj Tried rearranging the panels and saving my workspace as described, but every time I restart InDesign, it just reverts to the default setup. Not sure if it’s a glitch or if I’m missing a step somewhere. Also, increasing the Pasteboard area doesn’t seem to actually expand beyond a certain point on my screen, so I’m stuck with that limited space no matter what.
